I started as an engineer. ABB, transformer design. Then Acciona — where international infrastructure became my domain. Over a decade, I directed the electrical and I&C engineering on a $200M desalination plant in the UAE leading a team of 40, a $400M project in London, and a $1.5B joint venture in Australia. Projects measured in hundreds of millions, where the cost of failure is not abstract.
From that technical foundation, Siemens selected me for its CEO* Program — six engineers per year, globally. Rotations through corporate strategy, digital product and the Board of Directors Office of Siemens AG. What followed was Head of CEO Office at Siemens Gamesa, a €10B company navigating a major industrial transformation. That is where I learned that the biggest risk in a complex project is rarely the engineering — it is the decision-making above it.
